How to stop boars from breaking boats

I’ve been trying to hunt some boar with a slinger. I can pin a boar into a sliver of shallows but once the boar flees it breaks one of the two boats and gets away! Is there any other way to stop the boar in shallows or any way to stop the boats from being smashed.

I’m sure it’s fleeing when it breaks the boats, because I’ll be slinging rocks and then it will turn and run, while bleeding.

just man up and hit it with your punch when it runs, he will re aggro u at some point then u can outrun him back to boat
by the way the effectiveness of a sling sux FYI, just hit once from boat then go out of reach and spam restorations a bit

I've had good luck with the sling! every rock hits for 10 dmg. I would man up and do the punching but the boar always drags me through the woods with bears, moose, and other boars.

that's very weak and makes u chip stone for every weak hit
