Combat formulas

Postby banok » Thu Feb 14, 2019 4:51 am

Do we have any idea (ie. loftar posts in irc) what the formulas for working out mysterious "delta" Δ and mu (μ) are in agility v agility and mc/ua vs mc/ua calculations??

is mu (μ) only determined by number of moves in deck ( value 1 to 1.5) or is it also multiplied by difference in combatants abilities? otherwise Maneuvers wouldn't list μ, as you can only get 1 stack in your deck.

this is the only informative thing I can find on combat calculations, but it only really covers openings and decks, ignoring mc/ua/agility

μ Is the number of cards /5 that you have for that move, I remember having this discussion with loftar a couple years back. This is alluded to in the post you linked. 1 card = 100, 2 card = 112.5... etc. Since 1 card = 100%, there's no reason why adding it to maneuvers is wrong by definition, just kind of redundant?

Delta is a comparison between your stats and the enemies stats for the relevant attributes. For combat it's your attack type vs their defense type. For ranged it's perception of shooter vs agility of target. Your agility vs target's agility applies a difference to your combat cooldowns is another example of it. As far as I know it's a flat formula with caps, although what those caps are currently other than agility being capped at 20% faster with presumably 120% of your target's agility or more I don't know.

Hopefully that'll tide you over until someone who knows more can pipe up.

Edit: It's not that these are mysterious/unexplained, it's just that the way these work hasn't changed in almost a decade. So it's just kind of not explained since most people assume everyone knows. Well that and combat isn't talked about much publically other than to complain.
