Why do you go do quests and when? Alts or main toons?

Postby Agame » Sat Feb 16, 2019 7:18 am

Being totally random and unbalanced in any way, opinions about quests vary a lot. My question is "how do you, players, fit this content into your play style?"

I'm used to rely on things that are not random in my life, real or virtual. So I only do go visit trees and boulders when I have some other business in their area, like foraging, looking for a certain thing biome dependent or such.

Therefore doing Credos is not my main purpose, because I know I will get tons of frustration doing it and my real life burnt neurons will not have a decent compensation in my toon doing something more efficiently for the next 11 months or less until world resets again or until my toon dies to some forced PvP lovers I never wanted to meet, whichever happens first.

But how about you, Haven mates?

As a rule of thumb, everything that makes life easyer and less boring/grinding for players is a great idea. Everything that makes the game harder is crap coming from sadistic tendencies of Jorbtar helped by the few players with the same kind of disorders.

Every day on my main.
On alts when they need lp for something like combat, criminal skills or claims.

sometimes when every of the current important tasks are done
which character? It depends which one needs stats, if I need smithing or sewing ill go quest with that alt rather than with main which is okay for now
and quests are way too random, this is just a dumb mechanic, so it's not good to rely on them they will not be your main source of LP when you progress anyway
they are only good for the first few days, because you can get 15K or 5K lp for completing
and yeah doing them while you are actually doing other task is a perfect thing do to, keep it that way

worked on Credos day 1 as well as quests. Day 1 my friend gets 3 13k LP quest rewards as well as several other smaller ammounts and 2 gilding leaves. 1 has +5 STR 1 has +5 Smithing. I finish my Credo day 2. Go out with 2 wicker Baskets come back with both full and my Inventory of WWW, Random First aid items and tons of q30+ Food and curios. My friend gets Hunter Credo and does 90 damage a shot with a bow and almost never misses a target sitting still even when one of us is punching it. Boars and bears killed day 3 everyone has Bear Capes and Bear Tooth talismans.

A+ for effort, but this seems somewhat too fast of a progression..

toon is short for of "cartoon," the art style Warcraft. Before that it was 'alts' or 'twinks.'

Me, if there's not something I need to do, i'm out questing. Camp/village chores first, mining, fishing (if still at that stage), farming. You can forage while out questing.

Personally I am trying to keep fun/performance balance in my game time. I know it will stop being fun very quickly if you just try to minmax and nolife it. So, I am not following quests obsessively. The credo quests are quite high on prio list (but not on the top). The rest I am doing when I feel like it or if I happen to "accidentally" meet the criteria already and pass by the quest giver to get the rewards. Actually it happens not too seldom during hunting/foraging trips, all I have to do is to keep an eye on the map.
Too old to rock-n-roll, too young to die.
