My animals dsappeared overnight

I was in the process of taming some animals, they were all at 75% and 95%. I logged yesterday at 4:00 to beat them into submission, and then logged out. Today, when I logged back in, at 14:00, all of my wild animals were gone. I have no idea how this happened, because as I said, the animals were all beaten the night before, and were all leashed to the hitching post. There was one tresspassing scent on my visitor gate, which was open, but I have no idea how someone could kill/unleash my animals trough the visitor gate. My trees, which are all outside the palisade were not cut, and nothing was stolen. I have no idea what and how it happened.

Are the animals penned in a way so that they could wander off a mapgrid? There's a bug where if they do, they get unleashed and despawn, happened to me multiple times last world.

The pen was closed, unless they could walk between the gaps between the fene and the food throughs, I don't think they could wander off a mapgrid. Besides, as you can see here, two of the mouflons are dead on my crops

Geez, didn't even see the dead ones. That's really strange indeed. Is your claim active? What's it's presence? When did you make it? Have you given any perms to anybody at all?

Also, does your client have an option to show mapgrids on the minimap? If so check if your pen is built right between two grids. Again, happened to me without me realizing and screwed my taming multiple times.

My claim has been active since day one, I triple checked the permissions, everything is as should be. My pen is in fact standing between two grids, but that doesn't explain the dead mouflons.

Shot with an arrow? Arrows would have despawned when it was unloaded. Inspecting the carcass might give this away. No idea if scents could have been left since the supposed perpetrator would be off the claim.

That's exactly it, though. They'll completely despawn like if you completely fail to try to tame them.

About killing them with a bow, I think that's unlikely, because if they died in one shot, their bodies would be still on the pen, and if they didn't die un in one shot, they would break the fence to run toward the shooter. I made a little fence between the two grids, just in case. I'm also going to close my visitor gate during the night.

i can think of few reasons, 1 they werent leashed properly 2 they despawn if post is on different square 3 they despawn after few hours after entering tamable mode 4 someone nicked them

The claim extends beyond the perimeter of the palisade. I live with a friend, he couldn't kill the animals if he tried, and doesn't even know how to leash an animal.

I'm pretty sure they were leashed, as I did the latest round of taming around 10 hours before, and I checked the post to make sure they are all within the same grid. My guess is that someone used some kind of bug to steal/kill my animals. As I said on my last reply, I took the necessary precautions for the animals to not wander off their grid and closed the visitor gate while I'm not online.
