Black Coal ? Where/How

so hmmm where do i find Black Coal ? anywhere in a Mine ? maybe only from level 2-3-4-5 ? i tried prospecting all over my area never did find any... now prospecting the level 1 and 2 of my mine ... still nothing I also did mine a bunch at random places

Am I simply unlucky or is there tricks to find it ?

That's where it was in w10. This world it might have changed, who knows.

From personal experience (we are on the 2nd level atm) - have not seen it yet.

Ores seem to be fairly regional now. You just might not have a coal region in the areas you're prospecting.

coal flat out doesnt occur on layer 1 or 2 and you cant convince me otherwise

but it sure does occur on layer 3
