Tamed Animals

Do I need a hitching post for my tamed animals? Or can I just leave then in a pen?
First time taming animals here.

Completely wrong.

You need to hitch them or they will despawn.

As far as I can tell, the OP refers to animals which have not been tamed yet. They must be hitched. Once they are domesticated though, they can be kept in a pen.

Yea, unsure now if I misread that.

I though he ment animals that are currently being tamed, these need to be hitched.
The ones the are already tamed don't need to be hitched anymore and can roam free.

I'm sorry in case I did loskierek wrong.
