strawberries + credo question

Postby Nek » Wed Feb 20, 2019 2:06 pm

two questions.
1 - why the FUCK have i not ran into any strawberries despite walking around the biomes they 'supposedly' spawn in for the past few hours both today and yesterday. the character i'm trying to get this shit on has 2350 per*exp, i could get more since i have over 150k lp saved up on that char but i didn't want to put any more points into exp and i should be well past the minimum to see strawberries at this point anyway.
2 - is the final quest to finish a credo always a good deal more difficult than the other ones or? because the rest of the credo quests were not too bad so if this strawberry shit proves to be impossible (since i need to pick 2 of the fucking things and i haven't even found 1) it might just be worth me abandoning and trying again

Despite what wiki claims I think that's not enough. Just yesterday I was taxiing my wife's per*exp character to a particular forage-farming spot and in the middle of the rowing she screamed "stop!" because she saw a strawberry. I didn't see it and on that char I have over 3k per*exp.

Nah, I don't think so. At least definitely not always. Just RNG at it's frigging best.

Pure RNG go fuck yourself. I spent 3 days on 5/5 1/4 for quarry constantly getting visit L5, give rare ore you've never seen to X. Then today I finished the credo with "give piece of gneiss to X, kill a bat".

That's a gneiss way to finish out a hard credo.

My suspicion is that characters tend to be blinder toward stuff they currently need for quests, maybe them modeled the RL effect of overlooking stuff you're actively looking for...

With my experience in questing... no, it's just pure RNG.

I think this is right considering I quit the strawberry one which asked me to do like 3 other things too, all of which were tedious as fuck. I just got back to my final 5/5 quest to finish this foraging credo and do you wanna know what the quest is now?
Catch a toad.
That's all.

Fucking hell man god help those who get consistently bad luck on this sort of thing. It's been tame for me so far besides that one quest.

I've had mediocre luck at best on quarryman so far. I'm stuck with trying to find a flint node. The couple tiles I've found yielded no rocks. (Dumb ass me forgot Miner's Song.) After abandon's, I'm back to quest 1, and don't really want to give up the LP I'm saving for the last skill.

I didn't find my first strawberry for my last quest until I was at 6k+. I don't think the wiki is correct.
