Does lockpicking leave scents on houses/chests that are unclaimed?

Also do you need to enable criminal acts to lockpick a house/chest?

Doing anything to anything unclaimed never requires criminal acts or leaves scents. If it requires criminal acts, it will always leave some sort of scent.

The only thing that can be "claimed" that doesn't require a personal or village claim is the lean-to.
