How to write an effective suggestion

Postby Mr_Bober » Fri Mar 01, 2019 4:54 am

Hello.
I've recently started using the "Critiques & Ideas" forum, and I've noticed that there isn't a real guideline on how to write an effective suggestion.

Is it better to give a general idea like "Let's add unicorns!" or to go deep into details (like what it should drop, how hard it should be to fight, where you should find it, and so on)?

Should one make a single thread for every single little thing, or is it better to put multiple similar things together? Like let's say suggesting multiple kinds of crops, or multiple kinds of plants.

If something has been suggested before, and you managed to find the original thread, but still want to give your input, should you revive the old thread, or make a new one and add a link to the old one?

Any other tip on how to improve an idea presentation, or a critique?

As long as it's sensible, well thought out, and takes into account any existing mechanics/items that are already in the game, then people will probably have a positive response to it. If your idea sounds like you've thought of it on a whim, or is just stupid in general, then people will most likely flame you for it.

Details are always nice, and it's recommended to make separate threads for separate ideas instead of "grab bag" threads. If something has been suggested before, it's better to provide input on the older thread.

As long as your idea doesn't leak of autism like shubla, you're already doing a lot better.
I like apple juice.
