New tree growth?

Can someone more akin to this game please explain how these trees grow in this game? I know from last world it was changed but i mean i have druidic rite and still like 3/4 of my trees don't grow in 2 weeks time or stunt. Am i not doing something?

depends on what you're planting, where you're planting it, and then there's just that random variable jorb mentions in the patch notes you can't do anything about other than try a variety of trees to see what grows fastest. I'm not sure I can provide a better answer without more information, as it seems you do know how the system works.

Plant i forest biome. Specific forests also increase specific trees even further.

Things have changed, but far as I understand the mechanics: All forest biomes give same base speed (1 week for trees, 3.5 days for bushes) while anything else gives x3 the base. Stunting is per time unit, not per growth cycle. So if you plant it on the wrong biome, very little chance it hits maturity. There are now also hidden speed nodes that boost tree growth speed. No way to find them other than to plant every species under the sun to see which works better, but the boost can be very noticeable if you find a good node.

My spruce trees were growing faster than my elderberry bushes for example. That's really rare from talking to people though, it's usually closer to 20-40% speed boost.
