ores on level 1, quality between levels

Postby qazedcwsx4 » Tue Mar 12, 2019 12:51 pm

So i have two questions regarding mining. I really coundn't find this information anywhere.
1) Is it still possible to find ores other than Chalcopyrite on level 1? I have literally found 16 individual nodes of Chalcopyrite and nothing else so far. Was it changed and not mentioned anywhere or am i extremely unlucky?
2) How do quality nodes propagate between mine levels? For example if I find a node of Q40 Chalcopyrite on level 1, is chalcopyrite on level 2 directly below going to be higher Q as well, or are every levels' nodes completely independent?

1. Cassiterite, Chalcopyrite, Iron Ochre and frigging Heavy Earth are all possible to find on lvl1. But the "spawn areas" are significantly bigger this world than it used to be before. You might get lucky to live near intersection of two ores, but not more. To get other ore you will have to travel horizontally or vertically.

2. Independent. Theoretically it should be higher in q on average with depth but as usual with RNG you never know and quite often feel fucked and shout "thanks jorb" in frustration.

this is more about where you settled and are prospecting. I've a feeling some areas are more "ore saturated" than others with having all types within a few minutes walk isn't unreasonable.

It is higher in average, but I think qualities were nerfed a good bit this world compared to previous ones, so it's harder to see the difference.

My group fell into the trap of forgetting that tool softcaps rock/ore quality. Quite a bit of our ore was decent Q, but using a Q30 pickaxe was not helping us.
