If you're referring to "trading points" in trade threads it's an arbitrary system picked by traders for convenience. Sometimes the points standardize somewhat if everyone agrees that pearls are worth 25pts as a base or something. Some people might buy wax for 1, some for 2, but everyone will pay 25 for pearls.

90% of OPs in Apples for Oranges are exactly that - lists with costs in points.

Many operate With 100 Points for sub token.
I Guess that is the fundamental value?

100 for sub token, 25 for pearl does seem to be the base values that are common

The original systems were based on pearls usually. Always valuable more or less. I even remember 25/pearl as being standard back in the day.
