Fireplace wisp?

Sometimes when you light a fireplace some sort of fiery wisp or firefly flies away very quickly (and far it seems), always in the same general direction in my case. First time I noticed it I ran after it but forgot to take a screenshot but now I came back backed up with a very obscure screenshot. (the few pixel forming an orange speckle)

My question now is: does this have any noticed purpose, and did someone try/manage to catch one? Or am I purposelessly perplexed by this inane occurrence?
