Stats/abilities/armor to kill bears/moose

Postby somesoyboy » Sun Mar 17, 2019 3:12 pm

Hello.

What's the best way to fight bears/moose head-on? I have previously only cheesed them with a boat, but am wanting to fight them on horseback like i do everything else.

Firstly; which is better for hunting these, pure MC, pure UA, or a mix? And how high? I am currently 120 UA, 150 MC, 100 agi/strength. Do I raise MC or UA?

Secondly, am I supposed to use armor to reliably kill these? I usually only wear a chestplate to use gildings in the other slots. Is this alright and common?

Thirdly, Parry with a single sword, is this also a setup that can reliably be used without much wounds?

I am hesitant to try these things myself as I was previously set up with some -60 agility lacerations that lasted for 2 weeks. Any help is appreciated!

Your stats are good enough. You can take on a bear with like q20 bronze plate and a shield.

Basically the higher UA the higher opening of yellow you make and then just sideswipe it to death. The MC is not required in fight like that. It is however more defensive so I suggest you use shield up maneuver while wearing shield. Use horse on 3rd speed and just run away to lower opening. If your agility allows it you can sideswipe and then uppercut after it already has some opening to trade 2 hits for 1. If you do it the other way around would not work due to cooldown.

On normal bears I'd say yes, but as soon they are enraged you should make sure you're able to get away to reduce you openings.

Moose might eat your Bronze plate, but you should be able to do them.
Be aware that animals have a little variance on speed and moose are generally quite quick.

This, noticed moose have a bad tendency to vary between being a little bit slower than you on a 3 speed horse or sticking to you like glue which makes opening on them very hard while you are tanking their multi-openings. This is why I find bears a lot easier on horseback compared to moose.

Agreed.

Moose have this ugly tendency to open all colours of the rainbow.
