Mining, what's new?

Postby Sprymazi » Sun Mar 17, 2019 5:52 pm

As the title says, what is new about mining?

As far as I know there is a few new things like, more mine levels, other requirements for mine holes and some new ore called "Peacock".

But there is still some questions that for me are unanswered:

Are there more new ores than peacock?
How many mine levels are max now, and what are the requirements for level 6 and deeper, (7,8,9?)?
Have they changed slime walls? So far I have not mined out a single slime wall for mine level 1-4 and I have mined quite a bit.
Any new creatures lurking in the lower levels? So far I've seen cave lice, cave snail and the angler fish monster thing.
What determines the cap on Q on mining stone tiles and ores? I have a q90 tool and 90 Maso, what's the hard/soft cap of ores/rocks?

Slime is much like trolls--they can spawn anywhere. There's just a higher chance to get them as you go down. For that matter, the same is true of any event other than cave-ins.

Hardcapped by masonry, then softcapped by tool

Was a little confused at first about this statement since i have 90 maso and got 95 rocks, but i guess my credo bonuses are added after the hardcap, thanks for the answer :)

To add to that, it's softcapped by twice your pickaxe quality. Any other mining tool isn't doubled.

Not true. Only mining strength is doubled for pickaxe. Quality softcap is the same as with other tools.

Yerr... I even thought it at one point...

It's most definitely just

And it's the tool portion that is doubled, not the whole equation.
