Casting rod options

Postby Sevenless » Sat Mar 30, 2019 4:38 pm

I've heard in the past that they're will related. I've got 45 will and only had 2 options. I was fishing at a spot with 6 different fish showing up for the same lure combo after testing multiple casts. But get this, I moved to another lake/node, identical stats same fishing trip, and got 3 options.

Has anyone deciphered this madness?

Haven't looked too much into it, but there seems to be RNG element involved as certain fish I was after for a Credo appeared in list once but successive casts on same spot didn't have it, until it appeared again after dozen or so tries.

Not what I'm talking about, but I know what you're referring to. I've noticed there's a correlation between high catchrate and how often it appears at the top of the list. So if I have a big asp node, it will almost always show up in the list options, but the 5% ide node is only 1/10 casts. That's all well and good, except exactly once I had a high catchrate on a fish I only ever saw rarely... so there's that.

What I'm talking about though is the number of options you see. Regardless of what fish are in there, you can get more "visible slots" somehow. I'm really not sure how though, the will theory doesn't seem to be working for me since someone said third slot shows up around 30 will and I've got 45. Unless it's Will*Surv or something?

Jorb has confirmed it is will and survival. The original patch notes only ever stated Will, though.

My alt has shit survival just for fishing (I've never seen a fish node higher than 30, so why bother?)

Your number of options is capped by will, every 10 or so points that i've seen, and its increased by survival. in my experience at least
