Difficulty with Combat

Postby uncleseano » Tue Apr 23, 2019 11:06 am

Thought I fart out a topic here instead of spamming the Simple Questions Topic

Anywho's I'm having trouble getting my hunt on. I've unlocked a good few moves but I seem to only have success with the basic Punch and once openings are 70% then upper cutting. I can do most beasties but am stuck on boars. For taming I leather armour up and can tame aurochs but just general unarmoured hunting I'm getting my ass handed to be at the boar tier.

Going off Zebratuls Combat Guide I should be able to take boars at 45Agil/45 Unarmed. On my hunter I have 72 Str, 76 Agil and 63 unarmoured. What am I missing here? Any advice on how to 'git gud' that doesn't involve cheesing

To start with, boars are slower than you. Also, having no MC doesn't mean you can't use a weapon for damage.

I have copper but no tin, do have cast iron so I'll look into wrought iron for a weapon upgrade.

I thought all my troubles were over once I got Chop but with a metal axe the damage is only 45. Seems my punching does more than that

Maybe use Uppercut+Sideswipe, add Raven's Bite if you have Take Aim.

Check which moves you get from which animals on this page: http://ringofbrodgar.com/wiki/Combat_moves

Don't have ravens bite but I do have Take Aim. I'll give the Uppercut&Swipe a shot, could try in a kick for good measure just to burn the AP and create openings for the swipe. That and try outpacing the boar while I lower openings I guess

Use uppercut to open yellow then sideswipe. This works best for me on all animals. The only time I bother with IP is if i want to op knock a bear to 100 opening and kill it in a few hits.
