Can you die to a troll without having rage?

Is it still possible to get hit for so much damage that it kills you even though you don't have rage? I remember that being a thing in the PvP in the past but I'm more concerned about trolls that can hit harder.

I've recorded a troll kill today where we had a volunteer that got hit for the total of 1500 HP damage while he had 400 max HP. Last hit was 1200 HP damage. He survived with 30 HHP. I never got KOed by a troll this world and I've been soloing* them without much trouble so far but this made me worried 'cause of crashes/lags/internet down. This was a L5 troll.


*with a naked bait running around screaming at me irl ^_^

trolls are prob one of the only animals left that are able to kill people even with out rage. (if you dont count drowing by a whale)

Troll on average does 80% of damage dealt in wounds.
With some previous wounds or perhaps certain finishing moves he could reach that yes I think.

But I haven't seen it earlier yet myself..

Not sure what you mean by that but I've already soloed trolls up to and including L7 this world and I never felt like my stats are high at all. I also took less damage than when fighting mammoths head on (can't dodge spits from point blank) although it takes around 15 minutes to take down a troll in my case. But that's probably 'cause I'm really careful. After all it takes 1-2 mistakes to go down with the tougher trolls and I've been successfully avoiding that so far.

Trolls/Mammoths/Whales and possibly still bears are all deadly. Though they may only attack once or twice and walk away after leaving combat. If you have high HHP you may survive.

You'd watch your agonizing downed hearthling as the bear slowly teared him apart, wondering which attack would finally put an end to his suffering.
