Village vs Personal Claim

Postby valeriesusanne » Mon Sep 23, 2019 11:27 am

My personal claim reaches outside my palisade to cover a small portion of water where I am building my knarr dock. Out of the blue I notice a neighboring village is placing banners, and planning more, over my personal claim, and will soon cover my knarr dock. Can a village claim take over another player's existing personal claim? Will I have access to my knarr and dock if this village covers it? What are the rules about this? This seems a little aggressive to me; they are already on another waterway, they don't need to access my little corner!

If I remember correctly, your claim needs to be older than the village, otherwise their village can just overtake yours.

If you want to be protected against such mechanics, you should in general either build yourself a village or not settle anywhere near one.
As long as they do not remove your pclaim, you can access everything on your claim like it was before (I use this quite often as it is convenient to open up your village to friends).

Hope that helps :D

Only when the banners are older than the personal claim.

This seems a little aggressive to me;

well, obviously, that's not true... Village can revoke pclaim even if it is younger then pclaim.
that's not beign stated officially on forum though.
but that's the way how CF get rid of Felix this world.
It should still be "old enough"

Village banner should be at least 90% as old as pclaim. So that means if claim 30 days old was claimed by village - village will be able to revoke this claim after ~9 months

By the way, this thread should be in "How do I?" forum

The 90% rule was officially communicated in viewtopic.php?f=39&t=66316&p=839333
Sorry to have missed that part, must have been the fancy picture...

Which likely would boil down to 'not this world'.

Right... moved.

Thanks for the replies! In any case, my question was about game politics, not "how do I" anything, so this header seemed logical. Anyway, my claim is much older than this encroaching village; I've explored the surrounding area for months and they just popped up in the last couple of weeks or so. I guess I'll find out - I'm most worried about my expensive-ass knarr dock I'm half finished building. Their banners are heading straight for it, they even have the pavers laid out. Don't get the wrong idea - I'm not complaining (well, maybe a little) I'm mostly just curious. I've had to restart this game so many times I'm kinda getting used to it (you'd think I'd have learned something by now ;)

Pretty much this. There are so many advantages of having a small village claim.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

If he can, anyways. There is a limit to how close your totem can be to other banners, and if it's close enough for the OP to worry about encroaching villages, it might be too close to build one.
the proliferation of automation is the rot of this game, with the next worst thing being the filth that plays it (you, probably.)
