Blurry Art 101

Postby Ants » Sun Oct 27, 2019 9:46 pm

So I made a neat little discovery yesterday and figured I'd share.

Simply put, making tiny art gives blurry results. It uses very little pigment, so you won't even need a sketchbook to make it. It is possible to use this technique to make gradients like this at very little cost:

Here's the file I used to make that rainbow:

You can do it with any color, so have fun experimenting. :D

If none squared images are accepted by the uploader, a single-pixel-column image might also work for those gradient type cases.

It works, but it costs the same amount of resources as the squares.

Dude this stuff is so cool. The rooms are trippy as heck when you walk in.

Mat wise how big of a plot of land is needed for the flax? 100 x100? Ish?

Not a lot, at least not if you harvest daily. The one I've been using is maybe 20x20 and I've been painting tons of stuff.

Well, just do the math. I forget the exact amount of linseed oil per seed (.01 iirc), but at 100x100, you got 10,000 tiles, 15 seeds per tile (? max skills/credos) - 5 to replant.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.
