About Personal claims and setting them up.

I was never playing on start of new world even though i think i have some decent knowledge of game i still lack some of it so here's my questions:
1. As i read on wiki "Claims start off inactive, with 0 Presence, 0 soak" - So, when i place claim it starts inactive i know that strangers can go on in freely but are anyone able to destroy just from a start?
2. I guess my first question was dumb so here is another. Again on wiki "Only after 8 hours AND after the Pole has been visited again by the claim owner will they become active(...)" Is it in game hours or RL hours?
3. Is there any way to prevent claim being destroy'ed in early game?
I hope my noob'ish questions don't make you laugh at me :)

Rusty myself, but I believe:

1) Yep, this is so people can't drop invincible claim at world start (dropping a claim over a noob's pile of crates to "steal" them) and later so they can't drop blocker claims (as easily) to prevent people expanding.
2) IRL hours
3) Ways that are... hoaky? No. People abuse alt accounts and wall their claims in with naked fresh alts to protect them though, especially at world start.

1. yes. from start, the claim pole is inactive and may be easily destroyed by anyone passing by, until...
2. ...the 8 RL hours have passed (once built, you can hover over the cursor on authority bar to see the time remaining until activation)
3. not much, mostly achieved by blocking it with naked alts staying online for 8-h period if you like such style gameplay.

What about securing it with 4 leanto's around? I know they can be used as early game secured storage. Also can you destroy Leanto early game withouth skills?

I do believe leanto's cant be built close to each other as a part of "fix" for the exact same situations, so ppl started to use alts

u can avoid some (insignificant) part of potential vandals by placing your claim pole behind the tree, so it won't be seen from default camera angle. won't help against any experienced players but still an option
