Server Wipe? Need Info.

Postby airain » Tue Mar 10, 2020 2:58 am

I played over 6 years ago and recently returned to re learn the game. It seems the world has been reset and wiped as I cannot find my noob char.

How often are these wipes happening now? The first time I played, I invested quite a lot of time and many months into a very large compound. I hate to come back if these wipes are common now?

Is there only 1 server for all players? Is World 1-12 meaning build versions when the game was updated, or wiped, or both....?

Just trying to figure out how it works before I decide to build a new char again. i want to start over and buy a game package, but im afraid of devoting time if another wipe is down the road.

Wipes happen when major changes are being made or are planned, for instance the world was wiped last year because instead of the world being nothing but land with lakes they implemented oceans and islands and pangeas, and just a few days ago it was wiped again because they had implemented seasons and had changed the way murder worked and wanted to change siege mechanics a bit.

Normally they only happen every 1-2 years, many people play and lose interest in the time. You've started playing pretty much the best time you could, at world start, everybody's at equal footing for the most part and you have a long Haven life to look forward to-the next wipe likely won't be until next year at the earliest.
Total misplay.

Worlds usually run 1-2 years; sometimes longer. In which case welcome back. We now have oceans. Also: nothing is permanent in this world. The only tangible thing that will persist will be your character until you log back in until the world is restarted.

Quit letting companies make free shekels off of you; install UBlock today. Or better yet kick Google in the balls and install AdNauseam.

Thanks for the info. I never enjoy a wipe, but I suppose if they 1+ years apart it wont be too painful to endure.

You're lucky the world just reseted.
Perfect time to come back and you won't have any reset before a long time

World run time is, on average, just under 12 months.

If the last time you played was about 6 years ago, that should be world 7. The legacy version of Haven is available if you do an "account verification" (See the Store for pricing.) Your characters, if that was the current world, should still be available there. A few still play in that world, but not many, and the game has progressed greatly since then.
