Primitive Casting-Rod craft help

Hello! I'm a new player in h&h. Please help me.. i dont have recipe of Primitive Casting-Rod, but all ingridients in my backpack (alder bough x3, wool cloth x1, leather x1, block of birdcherrywood x1, spindly taproot x4, stinging nettle x4, bone hook x1). And no new reciptes.. what i do wrong?

did you buy the fishing skill?

You have to "discover" each of material (namely cloth and leather) by yourself
which means you got to either produce every of them (make cloth on a loom, pick leather from tub)
or ask friend -- who knows them -- to teach you (rmb-click another character with item and "Teach")

Also there is material account thingies but who does have spare furs nowadays?
