Waybroad and other healing items/herbs

Postby tyrtix » Sat Mar 14, 2020 11:22 pm

It's already some days the server is started, and atm i've nearly 1500 per*exp, and still cannot find a single waybroad, not even if i go in the best biomes to find them. Are they became rarer? also yarrow is hard to find, i saw it spawn for now in only two biomes, maybe three, and only there, thou at least these are in decent quantity. Beign healing implements, i think those items should be easier to find, at least enough to not need to go and forage for clovers and shear wild mouflons because is way way easier, or have to infect the wound to "heal" it and hope it goes away.

Waybroad has always been a huge pain in the ass. Even with high perc*exp in the ideal biomes it was hard to find. If there's an alternative medicine to use, I'd use it. Or just keep looking because even with high perc*exp you'll spend about the same amount of time as minimum just to find one.
The existence of a girlfriend implies the existence of a girlfoe & that is the service I'll be offering.

found many waybroads with not so high per*exp, perhaps you are mostly searching on incorrect biome

i've searched for half map of the world, i doubt i'm searching in the wrong biome since the only one i didn't found up now is mountain...even by random chance, at this point i should have found one at least. That's why i believe we need more healing methods, it's not right that i should prefer to get an infected wound to heal something, or just stop playing and waiting the next day or more, and since animals got a good buff, it's even worse: i got ko'ed by a wolf pack wich was impossible to get around (they spreaded in every direction, and moved way faster than me on 3 speed).

I believe that some other methods, who may heal a bit of anything but will take some effort to put togheter all the ingredients, and gives back a debuff for a while, may be a good way: make toon combat uneffective, but heal 1-3 hhp out of one wound you have, regardless the kind of wound, in 2-3 hours (except those wounds who intentionally cannot be healed), for example, a willow tea, wich may need some sap, willow bark, cauldron, and may heal most wounds by 1 point per hour, giving "nauseated" debuff, wich lasts few hours and basically prevent combat, and then change to another debuff that prevents to use the tea again for a total of 24 h.

You certainly only need a few hundred combined per*expl to see it. Found one before I started the forager credo at <400 combined value.

They're not rare, but I wouldn't call them common, either. You may just be getting terrible luck, searching in busy areas (so the maps don't reset and reset the spawns), or another related issue. Could be some herbs are on spawn nodes now and they're more or less frequent in some area, but that's just a thought from left field as I don't have any experience with it, just something I've noticed with trees and it's a possibility. (Not to mention how much of everything else has node spawning anymore.)

I reread through the thread and saw this. This is not a thing anymore. It was changed at some point during w11. If you want, I'll dig up the patch notes and PM the link to you or post it here later, or if someone else does it... I'm just not in a position to do it right this moment. Sorry.

Oh, i know the "fix", i'd just tell you that: i healed a deep cut totally by "infecting" it 4 days before world 11 ended. (this does not means it worked how it should, but it worked like that for me nonetheless)

That certainly wasn't what jorb implied with the patch notes. I guess I just never let an infection grow after the patch. Might be riskier now... don't really know.
