Questions about mining quality

Does quality of mined rocks come directly from node, hardcapped just by masonry, or is it connected to the tool you're using? Also mining the same node, i got both 23 and 24 quality rocks. Does it mean, it's a bit random even on same node?

yes different rocks have separate quality nodes
yes it is hardcapped by your masonry stat
yes it is softcapped by your tool
yes the quality is also somewhat random every time you mine a rock (not sure whether the randomness is calculated before or after all the other calculations, but I would assume before)
