What about animal quality? Hand-to-hand kill any animal, foxes 20q, badgers up to 30q, Bat 13q. But if a badger and a Fox fight, the Fox can be found 50-60q. Why is the quality bad when I kill in unarmed combat? Surv 50, Unarmed 70, str 35, Agi 30

The highest quality animal you can get by killing it is your survival level. Animals that kill each other do not have that limit.

So if a dead fox is Q60 after a badger kills you, you could get Q60 fox at that spot if you had 60 survival. As for the other qualities you mentioned, the minimum qualities are 20 for fox, 30 for badger, 15 for bat. Quality goes up in some areas, players call these "quality nodes". Nodes are unique for each animal, so a fox node has nothing to do with badger quality.
