Fishing in oceans

Im currently trying very hard to complete my fishing credo, but I have ran into many a problem since I lack a casting rod. However, the biggest issue is I have to catch a saithe, which is found in oceans, but due to the winter, most of the large body of water have frozen over. Does anyone know what counts as an ocean, and what I can do with a bushcraft fishing rod if I want to catch a saithe

ocean is a light blue water, u can get salt water from it if u are using kusk, it also doesn freeze.

Oceans sure did freeze last world. I think it takes longer. But yeah, best way to test is by taking a sample and seeing if the water is salt water.

Alright well im fishing in the ocean now, but I still cant seem to catch a saithe. Is there any specific bait or string or etc. that I should be using to catch a saithe, and should I be fishing in shallow or deep water?
