Fishing for Cod

Im still stuck on the fishing credo because I need to catch a cod. Ive been fishing in the ocean with my bushcraft fishing pole and have yet to catch one. I can't really make a casting rod because I can't grow crops, so I have to use the bushcraft rod. Is there anything I should do (ie. different bait, string, hook, etc) to increase my chances?

You can make cloth from 6 wool (acquired from wild sheep/mouflon using a clover and shearing them). Use wool to make yarn, and then make yarn into cloth. But I prefer bushcraft fishing anyway.

If you're really tired of a quest, just abandon it.

Problem is, I can't get any clovers since its winter.

If you can find some grassland with patches of snow, rather than completely covered, you can still find them. I got two this morning.

Had luck using primitive rod fishing deep water and using entrails Oceanside. You'll just want to boat from fishing spot to fishing spot till you start catching one.
