The Spiral Economy

Postby CryCryBaby » Fri Apr 10, 2020 9:40 am

Hello everyone!

In W11, I took my first steps in this game.
Then I quickly realized that iron is of great value here, and I began to mine it. More and more iron, and even more iron.
(actually not so much to spiral, but I brought 300-500 pieces per deal several times)

I sold this iron and bought a pickaxe, a frying pan, a meat grinder, a boar spear, rings and precious stones, quality crops and a good saw. Thanks to this, I mined even more iron, and sold, already at the community fair, and received gold for it.

This was all possible due to the fact that 500 20ql iron ingots after processing on the anvil turned into 250 200ql iron ingots, and then into 125 300ql ingots and so on. It was profitable for everyone: I got my goods, big guys made a profit from my iron.

What is it now?
No one needs iron. No seller buys iron bars, because even if I bring them 500 bars, this will not be enough even for 10 high-quality bars.
And if I want to sell not 500, but 100 bars, then I will not talk to me at all.
At the same time, the big guys still spiral iron, not as fast as before, but spiral. Little has changed in their rat race.
Loners and small groups cannot spiral, because there is no such volume.
And in the life of solitary hermits the question arose:

How can I earn enough pts for good trading now? Subtoken not to offer.

But I love to dig!
This is the best component of the game for me, digging and selling iron.
With difficulty, I collected pearls for the first pickaxe, dug up a bunch of ore, melted it ...
Now all I have to do is pile it up.

Thats because devs dont really play the game to see it for what it really is and always seem to make changes in guidance of 20-30ish hardcore+botting players and the problems they create.imo

Devs admitted the problems with metal spiraling long time ago, but kept it in game because cast iron was something that newbies could produce and trade. I agree that there should be something else for newbies to trade, otherwise only options are get lucky or wait ages to stockpile local resources and buying tokens with real money.

You're comparing a late-world economy to an early-world economy. Even if W11's metal spiraling were still effective, there would be a lot less trade in iron now than there was late world 11.

So, you say that last world you could get higly valuable items for practically free, because spiraling made them useless every week, when higher Q was spiraled. With that, you could get "trash" from big players for fuel for their spiral machines.
Right now, small players can't trade with big players so freely, and . . isn't that how it should be? If you want to trade, find someone you actually can trade with. Trade your 20q stuff for their 30q. Thanks to the change no longer everyone just eats garbage from spiral-factory.

This is not true.
It was not "practically free", I worked a lot, mining, smelting - it was my usual day 3-4 hours.
And it was not trash, it was the best tool on the market.
I used to be able to buy a 200 ql pickaxe for 20ql metal, now you offer to buy a 30 ql pickaxe for metal 20 ql. Which of us is talking about trash?
Moreover, nobody sells 30 ql things. Look at least A&O. Everyone still eats "garbage from a spiral factory," only paying for it with wax and pearls. And tokens.
