Can you wear a store hat as a cosmetic with a helmet?

Question in the thread - is the store hat only some kind of a skin-cosmetic-item you can wear no matter what you actually wear in-game..

or to wear them you need to abandon your normal head item with stat bons

The hats are just cosmetic. you still can still wear armor or whatever.

Yes, there's a hidden extra head slot for cosmetic hats, so you can wear both your 'real' hat and your cosmetic hat at the same time, and it will show the cosmetic hat.
