Fishing. Big fish

Postby cderfv » Mon May 25, 2020 2:22 pm

Welcome.
1) How to catch big fish in the 12 world? Small things are caught in shallow water. In deep water, nothing, rare the trash. I catch on a simple rod and giblets.
Maybe you need a special bait?
2) Another question: gave a fly from a cone, it seems, but it is not attached to the rod as well as bait. As the on special need?
3) Why do you need a stone lobster? I remember all over the world that it was like bait, but it doesn't attach to the rod either.

There are two types of fishing poles/rods:
http://ringofbrodgar.com/wiki/Bushcraft_Fishingpole
http://ringofbrodgar.com/wiki/Primitive_Casting-Rod

Those lures that you need to craft can only be applied to the second one, the Primitive Casting-Rod.

Unlike the Bushcraft Fishingpole, the Primitive Casting-Rod allows you to choose what fish you want to aim for, depending on which are available on the spot you are currently fishing. However, at the same time, the fishes that will be available depend on the fishing line, fishing hook and lure.
Here's a list someone posted, with what kind of lures work with most fishes: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... =390609203
Here's another one posted by Sevenless (taken from here: viewtopic.php?p=823917#p823917):

This list is not exhaustive (lacking ocean and cave fish because of where I live). You'll notice I'm mostly using flax/hide/twine because it's the highest Q lines I had at the time. This doesn't mean cattails/taproot won't work, just that I haven't tried them in most cases. Lures/hooks wise I feel I tried everything that was reasonably sane to make in bulk. If your fish isn't on this list, or is but you don't like the tackle combination, please do experiment. As far as I've ever experimented, everything is interchangeable. Sometimes my thinking something is rare could be their tackle combination being very specific, not 100% sure and I didn't extensively hunt fish I wasn't after.
