Fishing Net

Hello everyone.
My name is TEGO i'm playing on the ocean coast trying to farm some crops and catch some fishes. But the thing is I placed one fishing net on the ocean (not the deep water, not the lower one, I placed it on the middle water but i can't catch any fish i check it out 2 times (2,3 ingame difference) but no results yet.

My question is, it's this thing work on open ocean? or is it better a Lobster Pot?

Yeah there are lot of them. Do you have any idea about different fishing gears?

the net will catch fish, the quality of the net makes you catch fish faster. Youll have to leave the net in the water for a significant amount of time. Expect to see results after a day or two if not more. That is, if people arent pulling up your nets when you arent watching.
