Inheriting Stats from your Ancestor Questions?

In order for my new Character to inherit the 45% of the their Ancestor does the dead relative need to be buried before I create the new one and burn in? Or can i inherit burn in then bury the Ancestor and get the remaining while in the world after the burial?

It will work retroactively, you can bury your guy after inheriting.
