Finding a good place to settle

Postby cuinhel » Wed Oct 21, 2020 10:59 am

Hello all,

I just started playing again, and I'm looking for a place to settle permanently. But what is a good tactic to find a good spot? It looks like there are settlements everywhere I go. Is it important to be somewhere where there are not a lot of players?

Depends if you're looking for action or larp, if you want action stay on main continent if you want to larp either ask someone on a different continent to make you a beacon and settle there or try to make a snekk/knarr on your own and sail to a different continent

you can try and drop into a whirlpool until you find yourself out of the main continent, if you're larping...

play casual until you find a whirlpool then use Dugout to escape into the vortex

check odditown map to see if you're still in main continent, if so repair Dugout and enter Vortex again, with some luck you may endup in another continent

I'd settle in a place without any Realms, at least 2 minimaps away from people, water and localized resources

big west continent is a good candidate, you may recognize the orange terrain color

I guess the realm part is optional, but this world is very unstable compared to others, I'd just go full casual while it lasts
