Build minehole on top of claim?

Build minehole on top of claim?

Is it possible to construct a minehole on top of claimed area? For example level 1 of a mine. Let's say I have claimed a large section of that. Can someone construct a minehole on top (outside) and get down into my claim?

Yes.

Not sure if it even leaves a vandalism scent. Probably won't, cause the minehole is built on unclaimed land (overworld).
