Thanks for the entertaining posts, but do try to keep HDI informative. Also: @Snail--how the heck do you know "which" sword is going to be used for an attack? Last I read from either jorb or loftar, there wasn't any way to be sure. I believe the last weapon equipped is the most likely to be used, but there's always a probability that the other will get used.
You COULD dual wield an axe of some sort and a sword and open up abilities that rely on one or the other, but with the current limits of the combat mechanics, there's not really much point. And then you're going to run into the same problem as with two swords for abilities that can use either axe or sword--which is the weapon that is going to make the attack? The best you're going to get are style points. At worst, you're going to end up with a high quality stone axe being used instead of a mid quality fighting sword, a potentially huge difference in damage.
