Why are there crazy clusters of cupboards In abandoned towns

Why are there abandoned towns with an insane amount of cupboards in a small area clustered together that drives my OCD crazy and why do they have so much meat? Also why do the wizard towns in 1 of them just have SO MANY mulberries?

And the reason it's all meat is because lategame you're drowning in the stuff unless you've got a serious village going
