Why i cant build the Timber House

First, stomp to dirt. Then pave the land with stone.

Do you have the Stoneworking skill?
Plowing also works instead of stomping to dirt. Both require the Farming skill.

As an FYI, you can only build directly on grassland type terrains. Forest type terrains require the land to be stomped to dirt or paved first. I seem to recall a page on the wiki in the past with which terrain type went into which category, but it's been a while, and can't find it at this time. A general rule of thumb: if you can sprint on it (speed 4), it's probably a grassland type. If you can't then it's forest. Two general exceptions: beach and clay areas. Both have special rules regarding building.
