Any downside to having just visitor's gates?

Postby Thatguyintheback100 » Fri Apr 09, 2021 5:41 pm

Are there any downsides of just visitor gates or having layers of visitor's gates? I dont like having a bunch of gates so just 4 visitors gates is fine for me, barring any potential downsides that i dont know about

No player can pass through visitor gates while in combat. That includes the claim owner. If you get in combat while outside, you can't run inside, and if you get in combat inside (e.g. a boar walks into your base) you can't run outside.

If you just need place to run to when aggroed, build a log cabin with metal lock, you can run inside and TP before they pick the lock or destroy the cabin.

Is that really that big of a danger? it's not a giant mega base like what cities have, and last world we never opened the main gate for anything, and we didnt run into issue. I dont want it to be that i was just lucky and it's really dangerous

I personally only have visitor gates, but some people prefer to have non-visitor gates as well for this reason.

yes, its a big deal, the only safety you have is your base. Not being able to enter it when you are getting your ass kicked is an issue lol. If you aint creating airlocks then you are doing it very wrong.
