How do i use the glass pane table?

I smelted some glass up and when i try to put it in the frame it doesnt take, the frame has mercury in it and my glass is still molten

Specifically, needs at least 1L to start, even though it uses less than that in the process of making glass. (See thread here: viewtopic.php?f=48&t=70294)
