How does KO protection work now?

It used to be that not owning rage/murder protected you from being outright murdered, is that still the case?

I seem to recall it being changed in the previous world?

You can buy Rage and Murder. Rage lets you commit the crime of Assault and Battery; you can attack and KO anyone you want. Murder lets you murder people without KO protection via staying in combat with them if they get KOed, and also lets you give up your own KO protection in exchange for +20% Grievous Damage through use of Murderous Rage for 24 RL hours.

Rage: Attack and KO people
Murder: Murder people in Murderous Rage
Murderous Rage: Potentially murder people much weaker than you with a high damage blow, but have no safety.

You still get KO protection even if you buy both skills, you only forfeit it by using Murderous Rage. It's actually a good idea to buy Murder since it means if you ever somehow manage to KO a criminal in a Murderous Rage you can murder him for good.
Total misplay.
