Can't pick up carcass

Can you not pick carcasses up if the animal dies in the water? I killed 2 foxes like this today and couldn't interact with them in any way, though the badger I killed on land was just fine. Is this intended behavior?

RightClick the animal on minimap, you can skin, butcher and collect bones.

That worked, thank you. Can also use the lift command through the minimap too.
