Palisade Damage Question

Postby Akiracee » Sun Apr 18, 2021 6:25 am

New player here.

I made an error in placing a palisade cornerpost. It's not the end of the world, but I'd prefer to destroy it and build a new one over one tile.

A quick look at old questions seems to indicate this is not possible at low levels/without a ram.

But is there also a "drying" time that leaves palisade more vulnerable?

I have taken some swings at it, and it is redder than my other palisade pieces - is this damage?

ye, you're damaging it. Better to destroy it earlier when the soak is lower.
It will cascade and potentially destroy a decent portion of your wall after you break one segment, so consider starting but not finishing a corner post or segment in case your entire wall is destroyed if it's small

Cool. Thanks. I'll try and destroy it. It's not connected to anything yet, it was on the other side of a gate gap. I made the gap 2 spaces, but I would prefer 3.

Does the red-damage colour change further or get even redder? Or does it just suddenly collapse?

Nevermind, it's finally down. I really didn't think it was going to come down. I spent a lot of energy for asthetics. :)

You made a good call. 2-size gates are annoying to walk through.
For displaying damage I suggest you use a custom client like Ender, it has a lot of useful features that'll make your life easier.
