Domesticated animals despawn if knocked out?

Fought lynx on pony, i got knocked and pony fought. Was really near my house so i hearthed while thye were fighting. Came back within 1 minute to fight spot lynx and pony gone. Searched entire area he could have gone but he is dissapeared.

Ko'd animals can be lifted, someone might have yoinked it.

Literally 30 seconds if that between my hearth and return i was fighting it within 200 yards of my base. They hadn't finished fighting before I zoned out maybe that could have done it?

I guess it could have been yoinked but its very unliekley

Most likely the lynx ran away. Horse gave chase. Considering you did not see horse get knocked.

I found the lynx, it hadn't gone far. it was on a semi big island and no trace of the horsey.
