can not find Beehives in Spring

It's been two RL days spent searching for wild beehives. Do I have a really bad luck or beehives do not appear in spring?

Pretty sure they're a summer thing/fall? Unfortunately winter/spring just aren't good seasons to start up in. You can't find the base essentials to set yourself up with.
