Fastest way to move a village

We are a small group and already have a village set up but we want to move it somewhere else. Beside destroying the Village Totem with a wrecking ball, if the lawspeaker banish all villagers, then renounce the lawspeaker role, would that person to build a different totem, somewhere else? What would happen to the original claim?

Everyone can just leave, Lawspeaker can renounce the position by right-clicking the Idol I think, and leave after that.

If everyone leaves, anyone can grab the village (after authority has run out) by right clicking the Idol and selecting "Become Lawspeaker." I'm not sure about the range, likely you need to be within touching distance.

Also I recommend staying at the old village for now and sending alts to landscape and lay foundation/walls/idol at the new place first before moving.
