LP from killing animals?

Postby bulldogzxz » Sat Jun 05, 2021 2:33 pm

Hi all I just came back to the game and I heard you gain LP from killing animals. I also heard it was only using melee weapons? is this true or do ranged weapons work to? How does this work?

The first time you kill an animal you will get a nice LP gain, depending on the animal. Every subsequent kill on that type of animal will net you SUBSTANTIALLY LESS LP till eventually you wont even notice any LP gain. Now eventually that LP gain will SLOWLY, PAINFULLY, come back. But don't not hunt something just because you want LP gain from animal kills.

as for if it's only from melee, I have no clue. Bows have never been a weapon I pursued due to the fact that unless you're cheeseing the animal it will eventually end up engaging you in melee where your bow is useless

It's small enough that by the time you're advanced enough to kill said animal, the LP gain isn't really noticed. Trolls and whales might be an exception, but even then you're probably running 5-10k LP/hour so it's not that insane.

If only it were XP instead so you could rely on it for small XP gains when you're experience locked.

There's already a system for that ala questing. Animals are way too spammable.

I don't recall if it was late w10 or during w11, but around that time.
