Varies by the world. This world was centralized. The two (three?) previous were a bit scattered, and there was a chance to spawn anywhere in the world.

Fairly safe guess that we're spawning on the same continent based off Jorb/Loftar statements. Not 100% sure, but 95% or so imo.

I hope not. W12 map was huge and there were maybe too many inhabited areas I think.

West continent is a bit big for an island... bigger than spawn continent even. It was pretty dead. I would have preferred if basically west cont size was what we spawned on, enough space to breath.

What does "character development rate" (which is buffed by 20% and 30% by account verification and subscription) entail exactly? I heard it affects LP gains, is that it or does it affect some other stat (like Hunger or FEPs)?

Well you get more LP gain from curios etc. and more FEP gain from foods, quite simply.
