Food Satiation Numbers

Postby ThorleifCleaver » Sun May 08, 2022 10:37 pm

I can't seem to find a satisfying answer to this: at what drink percentage number is a food's satiation tick negated? In other words, what sweets & desserts percentage on brandy, say, would I need to eat a sweets & desserts item with 0 satiation gain? It's clearly not 100%. Can't say I understand the numbers and would like some insight.

That doesn't answer the question though, although I'd reword it.

"What exactly are the impacts of drink buffs on satiation gain".

Can't say I bothered with drinks this world to remember. I wasn't pushing stats so I let my satiations wear off naturally.

Wiki sais:
"For each food type consumed that are buffed by a drink, you lose one counter for that specific drink, and receive less satiation"

So yeas, i think thats an answer.

Nope, not an answer.
Obviously aware of the wiki. Question regarded specific numbers, specifically at what percentage did a satiation increase get negated. "[R]eceive less satiation" isn't accurate enough to satisfy, so I guess the answer didn't, uh, increase my satiation?
Anyway, does anyone have any insight into this, or is it a mostly mysterious mechanic?

I did some testing with moodog (unsmoked), always starting at 0 satiation. I did each of these tests once, so if there's some RNG I didn't pick it up. I first sipped the drinks, then ate 1 bite of food. The % is the satiation on moodog at the end.

with no drinks: 5%

with q41 wine in wrong cup (18% meat): 4%
with q41 wine (25% meat): 4%
with q107 wine (41% meat): 3%
with q258 perry (63% meat): 3%

with q32 beer (45% sausage): 3%
with q141 beer (94% sausage): 3%
with q227 beer (119% sausage): 2%

with q41 wine (25% meat) q32 beer (45% sausage): 3%
with q107 wine (41% meat) q141 beer (94% sausage): 2%
with q258 perry (63% meat) q227 beer (119% sausage): 2%

Its not a chance to negate it's a proportionnal reduction based on the quality of the drink.

Scratch what I just wrote: the reduction of 41 meat + 94 sausages giving 2% kinda throws off my theory. I'm just gonna ballpark it and say "100% _____ drink buff approximately gives 50% reduced satiation" and leave it at that.

Maybe it's a probabilistic rounding like with poppy grist, so 5/(1.41 * 1.94) = 1.83 means 1 guaranteed satiation point and 83% to get another one.
