Tinkers throwing Axe can be used as mining tool, it has more mining power than stone Axe, but less than pickaxe. It also mines faster than stone one.
Tinkers shovel seems to randomly dig out 2 to 4 soil pieces (normally wooden 2,metal 4)

Seems to me troll spawn rate has been increased. We already mined a couple out on different levels, without cave hermit credo nor doing major mining works. Unsure if it's just luck or a higher spawn rate.
